Estate planning in Mississauga
Thirty years of this practice have been done inside Mississauga, and the office is here. It is the one city on this site where the answer to "where are you" and the answer to "where do you work" are the same.
What an estate in Mississauga is usually made of
Most estates here are one house bought a long time ago, a couple of registered accounts, and adult children who have moved further out. The house is usually worth several times what was paid for it, which is what turns a straightforward estate into a probate bill nobody budgeted for.
The office is in Mississauga, at 45 Kingsbridge Garden Circle, Suite 609, and the practice is licensed across Ontario. There is no branch office anywhere else and this page does not pretend otherwise: meetings happen at your table, on the phone or on video, and the number is (416) 937-0347 wherever you are.

What probate would cost on a $1,200,000 estate here
Ontario charges estate administration tax at nothing on the first $50,000 and $15 on every $1,000, or part of $1,000, above it. Take $1,200,000, which in Mississauga is often a paid-off house and a pair of registered accounts.
$17,250 is payable before the estate is distributed, not out of it. When most of an estate is tied up in one asset, and here it usually is, that is money the family has to find before anything can be shared out. Making sure it is there is most of what the planning does.
- The estate$1,200,000
- Less the first $50,000, which is not taxed$1,150,000
- Divided into thousands, rounding a part up1,150
- At $15 each$17,250

Asked in Mississauga
Do I have to go to Brampton to deal with a Mississauga estate?
The application does. Under Ontario's rules an estate is probated in the region where the person lived, and for Mississauga that is the Superior Court of Justice for Peel, which sits in Brampton. Your executor's lawyer files it there. You never have to go yourself, and none of the planning happens in a courthouse.
Can we meet in Mississauga?
Yes, and usually at your kitchen table rather than at an office. The practice is based here at 45 Kingsbridge Garden Circle, Suite 609, and home visits across Peel are normal for clients who would rather not travel. In person, by phone or on video, whichever suits you.
